How to Make the Best Resume

Creating a great resume is more than just finding the best template and printing it on fancy stock paper, the two most important parts begin far in advance of actually writing a solid error free resume.

Research Other Resumes
After you have successfully research and planned your career path, (put in link here to career planning article), you must begin again with the end in mind.  What better way to know what makes you a marketable job seeker than to look at five resumes of successful people in the field you training for.  This does not mean steal their resume word for word, but see what industry buzz words appear in their resumes. Print off the five resumes, lay them out in front of you and search for similarities in style and content.  After you have done this, you will have a good understanding of general format and buzz words.

Identify Key Qualifications
The next step is the most important.  You must identify what qualifications the people who wrote these resumes have other than the degree.  What organizations are they a part of?  What professional associations are they members of?  Did they volunteer?  These are just a few examples, and an important part of your  research as many of the items that make a great resume, and ultimately a leader in the field you are applying for, can not be done in a day, but must be started from the time you start your studies.

Begin with the end in mind, and do not forget that the complete package and your employability begins from the moment you begin your studies.   Put the time in up front and create piece of mind knowing you will be employable and able to create the best resume.
